One of the best summaries I’ve been able to find on the proposed legislation before the House this week.  Basically it boils down to 3 proposed bills:

Bi-partisan Plan – “Gang of 20″ – some offshore drilling, renewable tax credits and improved transmission, Tax credits for fuels efficient vehicles, funding for biofuel research.  $20 bil to make 85% of transportation run on alternative fuel in by 2028.

Democrat’s bill – modest drilling increases, renewable energy tax incentives, repeal oil tax breaks, and set %15 by 2020 renewable targets.

Republican bill – “All of the above plan” Drill baby drill-offshore and in ANWR, tax breaks for efficiency, prize for 100MPG car, more refineries, develop nuclear and clean coal, permanent renewable energy tax credits.
