This tragedy has prompted some soul searching on the part of the government with regard to the regulating agency the Minerals Management Service. It has been a long standing position of environmentalist that there was a conflict of interest in that the agency in charge of oversight and safety was also issuing licenses (collecting money) and collecting royalties. It is outrageous that it has taken a national disaster to prompt responsible leadership, but here we are. Links to stories on the proposed separation of the arms of the MMS here http://tinyurl.com/37w4hnq we need to stay vigilant on the matter of royalties which have not yet been addressed.

Definetly, the problem of the Florida oil desaster is certainly a burning question. Your post is worthy topic to this bloody oil desaster. We have to watch it in depth. Although I do not agree with some minor points in general Im agreeing to your position. I am looking forward to future updates, which eventually brings help and slows down the oil problem.
