Congress will consider energy legislation this week. Of course, the oil industry is pushing its “drill, drill” slogan with all its might — Don’t let them be the only voice your reps hear! 

Tax credits for investments in solar and wind power have not been extended, and this has put investment in the industry into limbo at a time it needs to be growing.

A couple things I found than made Frank Lautenberg, Robert Menendez, William Pascrell, Donald Payne’s offices take me more seriously.  

1) Open the conversation by telling them your name and your town.  Then tell them you want them to support legislation promoting renewable energy and a unified grid.
2) Ask for a response in writing.  I did not hear anyone taking notes or typing until I made this request, it definitely made the request more legitimate judging by their responses.
