[Summer 2007 - October]

So here we are at the end of the summer season and I have to say we did just fine with this repellent recipe. There were some mosquito bites but no more than we’ve seen in past years when using conventional repellents. But the really great news is that we didn’t notice any flea infestation at all. Maybe we just had a particularly flea free yard this year? It was dry… We will continue to spritz the dogs as they go out until the first frost (and ourselves if need be. 80 degree weather in October?!). But overall we were happy with the results so we will do this again next year. The only thing we might change is to use the essential oils with a grape seed oil base instead of water. That will allow it to stay on the skin longer and we won’t have to reapply so often. We’re not sure we can do that for the dogs however. We’ll have to ask the vet about using oil on their skin/fur. Will let you know..
