Shop the Edges
Raw foods are typically located around the edges of the supermarket. Though not trumpeted by flashy packaging or marketing, whole foods like veggies and meats are widely considered the most healthy. Processed foods like cereal bars, pre-packaged meals, and basically anything that does not come out of the ground that way, have two drawbacks:
1) They are more expensive
2) They usually contain fillers, synthetic ingredients, food-like additives, preservatives and sweeteners
Of course buy organic when you can. To help guide your spending dollars check out the Dirty Dozen list of foods are typically treated with the most pesticides, spend your organic dollars here first.
