Green-A-Fair:: Essex County Greens

Jane of the Essex County Greens stopped by the Green-A-Fair to explain the tenets of the Green Party: opposition to violence in solving international disputes, opposition to the death penalty, utilization of clean energy, equality, and the right to a decent life.

She explained that the political Green Party is different from the “green” movement toward sustainability, although the sustainability is a big part of the platform of their party.

Jane also talked about the problems that coal and coal energy cause, and ways that miners could potentially be utilized to create sustainable energy instead of dangerous coal mining.

In addition to their pro-sustainability outlook, Susan from the Green Party explained that the Green Party is also urging the federal government to create a “Department of Peace” which would help curb violence instead of only dealing with it after it happens.
